My newest cosplay is from Summoners War : Sky Arena, an mobile phone app game. I found this cosplay so easy because it was the first armor cosplay that I made with mostly Worbla. For many years, I just couldn't afford to buy worbla. I mean it's 80++ USD for a jumbo sheet size 5 feet by 3 feet. You can order them here --- www.cosplaysupplies.com/store.…
I have always used craft foam. 5 $ can get you a pack that will add up to 3 x 5 feet... so I made many armor cosplay with just that (.hack). However, after getting a sheet of worbla from my friend, I realized why there was so much hype.

1. Easy to design with. You can draw your pattern, cut it, and then shape it. In the past my design and patterns must fit perfectly to make armor in craft foam, because craft foam doesn't have malleability. But with Worbla-- even if I guestimate the shape of the pattern, it's ok because you can just use a heat gun and shape it to the exact way you want. This cuts time in half because I don't have to make a perfect design before cutting up the material.

2. Less time with priming: With soft craft foam, you have to prime with modge podge or sealant to keep it stiff and shiny prior to painting it. With worbla.. I admit.. I kind of skip this step....I was suppose to prime with woodglue or equivalant to get rid of the rough surface, I found that if you just straight apply acrylic paint on the worbla it'll look ok..(look at my Summoner's War cosplay). It kind of gives a beaten armor look. If I used Black worbla, then the costume would be done faster...

3. Storage - the biggest problem with my craft foam armor is that they don't store well. after a year in the garage, the heat, pressure from stuff stacked on top of it will damage the cosplay. Well, it looks like my worbla armor took a beating from wearing at cons and being tossed around from car, hotel, con, and garage without any damage. It's great!

Lesson learned. I'm glad my friend offered me worbla! I hope you can try it too.
